The Provence Profile

Builds a graphic portrait of the child’s competencies and
concerns by examining eight developmental domains

Is Criterion Referenced

Features eight domains: the traditional domains that assess skills:
gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, language & communication,
and self-help, plus relationships to persons, emotions and
   feeling states, and coping

Includes a "Developmental and Behavioral Checklist" that
primarily notes potential ’red flags' in psycho-social areas that
   may need further evaluation

Provides Guidelines for calculating “percentage of delay"
Achieves greater depth in the essential psycho-social domains than other instruments. It employs naturalistic observation and incorporates parent reports of the child’s development. The result is a descriptive summary of the child’s developmental competencies that includes a performance age range. In addition, a percentage delay can be computed in cases where this information is required.
